About Jalvihar

Jalvihar is the brainchild of a retired native of Bordi, with the goal of enhancing the experience for Bordi adventurers. True to its name, you will have a "Vihar" over "Jal". Situated in a Chikoo farm, enveloped by verdant fields and a pool, one can truly feel a sense of peace and calm.

Being a local Vadvals, we offer homemade North Kokan cuisine in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. In this coastal village, trying the seafood is a must.

About Bordi

Less than 200 km from Mumbai, near the Gujarat-Maharashtra border, lies Bordi Beach, offering a serene weekend getaway for Mumbaikars seeking a peaceful break from the city's hustle and bustle. Visitors can enjoy the sun, take leisurely beach walks, and savor authentic North Konkan cuisine.

Bordi is a coastal village boasting a long expanse of black sand beach lined with palm and suru trees, along with Chickoo trees recognized as a Geographical Indication. It is the birthplace of numerous freedom fighters and has been an educational center since the early 1900s. Various communities like Somvanshi Shatriya Vadval Samaj, Gujaratis, Parsis, Jain, Marwardis to name some coexist harmoniously in this region.

The area is renowned for the Warli tribe, celebrated globally for their paintings and traditional music. Bordi offers an enriching experience for the mind and soul. A local Chickoo festival is held to honor Bordi's delectable Chickoos and support local craftsmanship.
